Would you like a new “look” for your cabinets for less money than buying new cabinets? Here are a few questions to ask yourself:

Are your cabinet boxes sturdy?
Is your cabinet configuration pretty much the way you want it?

If so then your kitchen may be a good candidate for refacing. You'll save money on the installation without the potential issues of plumbing, flooring, electrical and wall tiling, and the added downtime that may arise during new cabinet installation.

Cabinet Refacing

With cabinet refacing, Kitchen Tune-Up^® will discuss and price out your kitchen in your choice of door style, color and options, and answer any questions you may have. Then once we move forward we will come back to do the job as follows:

remove and dispose of your old doors and drawer fronts,
secure 1/4" thick wood or thermofoil panels to the sides of your cabinets for strength and durability, and optionally install panels underneath your upper cabinetry,
cover your cabinet boxes with state-of-the-art technology thermofoil or real wood veneer,
install all new thermofoil or wood doors and drawer fronts with adjustable lifetime concealed hinges and bumper pads so your doors close softly and quietly,
optionally install new crown moulding, valance, toe base, new drawer boxes and more.

In addition you can expect us to:

complete a reface typically in two days,
cause minimal disruption,
keep the dust and debris levels to a minimum,
leave the kitchen somewhat usable for evening use,
cleanup and dispose of debris, and
provide a written warranty on the products and workmanship.

Cabinet Redooring

To redoor your kitchen cabinets, we will replace your doors and drawer fronts with new ones in your choice of style that are color-matched to blend with your existing cabinet boxes. We will also replace your hinges with concealed hinges and will install new handles or knobs. This is a good option if you like the color of your current cabinets but want to change the door style for whatever reason. You can save a few thousand dollars (versus refacing them) on a typical kitchen size and we can complete the job in one day.

What if I want to change the color?
If you want to change to a solid color such as white, you can select from our solid-color thermofoil or painted wood door options. Then either you or we can paint your cabinet boxes to blend as closely as possible with the door color chosen, and we can install new doors and drawer fronts. If you want to lighten or darken the stain color then you would need to have the entire cabinetry stripped and restained - a service that will cost far more than a redooring and one that Kitchen Tune-Up^® does not provide.

Helping the Environment
When you redoor your cabinets instead of replacing them entirely, you do a small part to help our planet. Your cabinet boxes don't go to a landfill and the energy and materials needed to create new ones isn't used either! It's just one more thing to feel good about.

Door Selection

Our large selection of wood and RTF door styles include beaded, rope mould, shaker and contemporary styles - and many of them can be glazed. You can choose from oak, cherry, maple, hickory, alder or other wood species, or choose beautiful low-maintenance RTF in wood grain, painted maple wood, or solid color foils. All reface materials are made to match. A huge variety of quality pulls or knobs are also available in virtually any style you can imagine.
